Health and Safety
Freight Haulage and Winton Cranes were the primary site to renew the certification to be an accredited employer in 2016 under the ACC Partnership Programme. We met all the requirements that is required by ACC in how we manage the health and safety of our workforce. This enabled HW Richardson Group of companies to retain the Tertiary Level Accreditation.
We pride ourselves in involving our staff in all aspects of the health and safety within our business. We operate under a comprehensive procedure manual that not only provides a safe way of operating but also manages all the risk associated within their tasks and controls to assist them in completing them safely and efficiently.
We continue to train all our drivers and operators to ensure they say at the top of their profession. We manage and monitor their performance to ensure we meet all our obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
We pride ourselves on the up-skilling of our staff and regularly provide competency-based training within their speciality. We are passionate about our health and safety policy and work to the highest standard of safety management within all our businesses activities.
HWR Transport Division have recently in 2015 employed a Health and Safety Coordinator to manage the day to day running of health and safety.
Health and Safety is the responsibility of all our staff and managed by the Health and Safety Coordinator and is maintained above the current HSW Act 2015.
We have engaged key staff within the business to be part of the Health and Safety Committee and they have been trained to be Health and Safety Representative for their divisions. They have a major influence in the policies and procedures within the company where they are consulted on all changes and new procedures. These are reviewed on a yearly basis.
Being part of the wider HW Richardson Group of companies we are subject to yearly audits. We engage Work Safe on many of our contracting projects to ensure we have completed all the required industry standards to the highest level of health and safety. We have been commended on all of them and we have had no injuries reported on these projects.
